The Situation
Mt. Pleasant Church PA had been running on an outdated site for about eight years, wanting to upgrade it the whole time but never getting around to it. They wanted a complete refresh that presented the church more professionally and organized their content into pages and layouts that were easier to navigate. They also needed the site to be simple to edit themselves, including quickly adding Sunday bulletins and a monthly childcare menu as PDFs with a title and description. On top of that, their public events calendar had been open for any visitor to edit, leading to a few accidental changes, so a more secure calendar solution was needed too.
What We Built
We built a more professional site anchored by high-quality drone video and photography showcasing the church's campus. We condensed the lengthy page content and restructured navigation with a main menu and submenu items, like an Adult Ministries page grouping several ministries together. For longer pages, we added a sticky sidebar with linked, in-page navigation so visitors can jump straight to the section they need. For the Sunday bulletin and monthly childcare menu, we set up software that lets the admin post a title and image, and the system formats and publishes it automatically. We also replaced the old public-editable calendar with a Google Calendar embed, pulling events directly from their existing calendar so it stays accurate and secure.
